The following poem captures a very important theme and creates in our hearts a sense of emotion. It reminds us that sometimes the obvious is often the most misunderstood.
If all brethren were to remember this passage whenever they go to a lodge, it will most definitely help in strengthening our fraternity.
I' m the guy
I'm the guy who joined our organization
I'm the guy who paid dues to join
I'm the guy who stood up in front of all of you and promised to be faithful and loyal.
I'm the guy who came to your meetings and no one paid any attention to
I tried several times to be friendly to some of the fellows, but they all had their own buddies to sit net to.
I sat down several times but no one paid any attention to me.
I hoped very much, that somebody would have asked me to take part in something but nobody noticed when I volunteered.
I missed a few meetings after joining because I was sick and couldn't be there. No one asked me, at the next meeting, where I'd been. I guess it didn't matter.
It didn't matter very much to others whether I was there or not.
The next meeting I decided to stay at home and watch television.
The following meeting I attended but no one asked, where I was there when the last meeting was held.
You might say I'm a good guy, a good family man who holds a responsible job,
Who loves his community and his country.
You know who else I am? I'm the guy who never came back.
It amuses one, when I think back, on how the officers and members were discussing why they were losing members. It amuses me to think that they spent so much time looking for new members when I was there all the time.
All they needed to do, was to make me feel I needed, and wanted, and welcome!!!

PUT THE GLASS DOWN, JUST NOW
Once a Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see and asked the students, "How much do you think this glass weighs?
"50gms!?"......"100gms!"......."125gms".....the students answered.
"I really don't know unless I weigh it, said the professor, but my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes? "Nothing" the students said. OK, what would happen if I held it up like for an hour? the professor asked.
Your arm would begin to ache said one of the students. You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day? Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis; have to go to hospital for sure! ventured another student; all the students laughed.
Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?
Asked the professor. No replied the students. Then what caused the arm ache; the muscle stress? Instead what should I do?
The students were puzzled. Put the glass down! said one of the students.
Exactly! said the professor. Life's problems are something like this.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head; they seem OK. Think of them for a long time "they begin to ache". Hold it even longer; they begin to paralyze you.
You will not be able to do anything.
It's is important to think of the challenges(problems) in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to "put them down" at the end of every day before you go to sleep.
That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh; strong; can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!
Remember friend--PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY
That's Life!!!!!!!!!

Life begins each Morning
No matter whether you are 20, 30 or 60, no matter whether you have succeeded or failed or just muddled along, life begins each morning.
Each morning opens door to a new world, new vision, new aims and new trying. God has so ordained it. Life begins each morning. If yesterday was a dismal failure, then turn that failure into success today.
As a prominent thinker once said, "It isn't a disgrace to make a mistake. The disgrace is in making the same mistake twice." Failure is nothing more or less than success, which has taken the wrong road. We all walk down that familiar road and we all fail at some time or another.
The test of a man is not whether he has failed, but whether he is content to lie there and wine, or get up and start again. The world credits Thomas Edison with great success. When he invented the light globe, he had tried over 2,000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail 2,000 times. Edison replied: "I never failed once. It happened to be a process of 2,000 steps."
The singer practices for many years. Many times he fails to reach and hold the note he desires. But he doesn't call it a failure - he calls it preparation. In reality, a man is not a failure until he declares himself incompetent.
God has given each of us another chance to make good. It is in the new day that He has given. He has given to each of you a new opportunity, new aims and new life.
Say to yourself each morning "My life begins new each day. What am I going to do with it." Source:"Freemason"- the Official Journal of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory
